My FAVORITE place when I need some good, hearty breakfast. We like to order Momma's Pancake Breakfast! It comes with 3 Buttermilk Pancakes and 2 eggs with 100% pure natural syrup. And another plate served with Smoked Sausage Patties, Thick-Sliced Bacon, Turkey Sausage Patties or Bacon. In my opinion, their main highlights are those delicious, (crispy-edge) buttermilk pancakes! Never fails me. It smells very close to Korean boong-uh-bang or heot-dduk, I think that's why I like it even more. I enjoyed their Momma's French Toast Breakfast (my second favorite). I also tried their Buttermilk Pancakes with Fruit Toppings, (got it in Blueberry), but it was way too sweet. By the time I went on to my second pancake, the pancakes were wet, soggy, and lost the edge of crispness I so very much enjoyed. So I stick with the originals, no toppings!

Not very good. This is the 2nd time I have tried this Cracker Barrel (we stop in Junction City on our way to Colorado). The first time we had to wait forever to be waited on. This time, the food was not very good.....and neither was the server. They, not once, came around to refill our drinks. The 1st three forks when unwrapped had food caked on it. We asked for replacement silverware and the replacement had food caked on it.

BLUF: Can't go wrong with their breakfast - consistently good. Very attentive and friendly staff. Dishes are consistently served fresh and tastes great. Very clean and large dining area. They need more cashiers during lunch time. Came here for breakfast during lunch time today. The location is conveniently located off the Highway for travelers and not too far from Fort Riley for Soldiers'. The restaurant looks very new and has a large dining area. Other than the size of this particularly CB, everything else is un-change from all the other CB's I've eaten at. The food is consistently good and the wait staff are always extremely friendly and genuinely care about the experience you have during your meal. I got the Old Timer's breakfast - eggs over-easy, bacon, and the casserole. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nothing tasted too salty or lacked flavor - quality breakfast for a decent price. Much better than your standard IHOP or Denny's. I am glad that there is one close enough to post, provides more lunch options in JC. You also don't have to worry about a long wait due to the size of this location and the food usually comes out fairly quick. The only negative I saw was there was a long line forming at the register - only 1 cashier was ringing up patrons. A manager eventually came to help - you figure that during the lunch rush they would have at least two registers up. Overall, you can't go wrong with this place whether its for bfast, lunch, or dinner. Lots of dishes to choose from, daily specials, and cheap.

Stopped here last night from a long day on the road. They were really slow, only a couple other tables besides us. They only had two servers on the floor, ive never seen that!!! It was about 3 oclock on a thursday, so i thought that was weird. Food came slower that it should have but they probably had just as many cooks as they had servers. Our server was very good for only being a par 1, so good for him :) the cashier lady came off a little rude though, she must not have been up for conversation

A Cracker Barrell is a Cracker Barrell. It's a chain, they are all the same. The food is good, sometimes a bit too salty, but good! You can't go wrong with comfort food. My only gripes with this place is their fireplace. I've been to this location only twice and both times we were almost smoked out of the place. It gets THICK. And the smell will stick to you and remind you of it for the remainder of the day. The waitresses here are all very nice but the people who ring you up in the store portion are not.

Great food and service delivered time and again. Sometimes I drive out of my way just to take part in a too large breakfast at the barrel. It's hard to believe that IHOP stays in business when this place charges about the same price for better quality and higher quantity.

Wow. This was the worse experience I have had with cracker barrell. The food was bland. I ordered the haddock. My husband and son ordered the roast beef. It all tasted bland and portions were small. I wouldn't normally complain though, it's food and I didn't have to cook. But the service...started out fine but as soon as the check hit the table that was it. I sat trying eat my food with no drink. I gave up on the food and waited for the waiter, Zach to come back. After about 15 minutes I was mad. At the 30 minute mark a manager finally walked around and I got boxes and tea to go. While waiting my husband paid the check and went outside. Zach is lucky that he got a tip only because the bill was paid early. The manager Mike said next time we are in to ask for him. I don't know if I will go back or not.

Standard Cracker Barrel food and ambience. In other words, food that is tasty but full of calories, and a chaotic, crowded, dining area that can only be reached by wading through a store crammed with junk made in China. The low cal options are limited, and unfortunately mine was served with an accidental (I guess) blob of loaded cheesy hash browns. The wait staff tries but they seem stressed and miserable. Too bad there aren't more interesting options in this area.

Cracker Barrel isn't bad... it isn't great either. But it gets a nod from me because I love the biscuits and turnip greens there. Other vegetables and beans are okay, too... if you like them cooked like I do. The Stewarts Diet Root Beer and a Zagnut bar round out every good meal there as well! lol

I stopped here after leaving Abilene, KS early one morning after visiting President Eisenhower's grave and before heading back to Michigan. The CB is like every other CB that you find at exits scattered across the US. They are reliable for good home-style food and clean bathrooms. This was not an exception. I enjoyed the hot breakfast, prompt service, and clean bathroom. I doubt I'll return to Junction City, but if I do, I know where to go.

I'd also give this place 4 stars for it's home cooked meals (breakfast, lunch, &dinner served all day) with plenty of choices for your side items and the restuarants homely atmosphere (&fireplace). I like how everything in the restuarant flows together. My husband and I went in the last week we were there. My husband was feeling like having breakfast that afternoon so he ordered French Toast, I forgot what other items he got, but he was also craving their biscuits and gravy. I had pot roast (which was tender as can be) with gravy, for my 3 sides I got corn, mac&cheese, and their yummy dumplins. So basically we had a pretty big lunch! And our hunger was definitely satisfied. We are going to miss this "down-home" country style/feel good restaurant. As for the store, I would agree about that it's good for browsing, unless you have kids with you because of their selections of candies and intricate toys. It's just fun to look around in my opinion. All in all, this place is a good sit-down, laid back, family place, with that home cooked / feel good meal.

Always good stuff and wide selection. Be careful if you take girls here, they will want to shop afterwards.

Oh my goodness -- so many times I have had very poor service here. Not in getting food to the table, they do that just fine. But in the knowledge of the staff and - sorry to say - the managers skills to solve problems is also weak and lacking. The service here has become such an aggravation to me that after giving this particular Cracker Barrel MANY OPPORTUNITIES to do better I have simply stopped going. Hey I really like some of their menu items but the staff here is not well-trained at all. I've lived in this area for three years and would judge that every fourth time I've gone into this place I have left feeling really angry. I even walked out once and that is a rare thing for me.

My hubby and I love Cracker Barrel, and we stopped at this particular restaurant on our way back to Colorado Springs from Lawrence, KS. About an hour down the road, I realized I'd left my baby's high chair toy attached to the high chair. I called about it, and they said they would mail it to me! We also had excellent service from our waitress while there, and the food was good, consistent Cracker Barrel food. Highly recommend!

Back in 1999, Cracker Barrel and Denny's were the only 2 real, sit-down restaurants in town. With that in mind, Cracker Barrel deserves 5 stars, but with a dose of reality, I'll give it 4. What I remember is that it's just decent, down-home cookin' and it worked for me (meat eater) and for my vegan mom and sister. Great sides like greens and sweet potatoes, etc. And meat with gravy. How can you not love that? The front is lined with rocking chairs and has a country store that is great for browsing. Were it in San Jose, I don't know what rating I'd give it. But in that time and place, it gets 4 stars.
